BOZ KRUMLAUF

LEAD MAKER
Co-Owner, Shop Operations, Craftsman
Boz Krumlauf, Black Zebra Woodcraft's Central Maker, was born and raised the son of a Master Craftsman and Grandson of a Locksmith/Safe Mechanic and both of their early influences weighed heavily on where he is today.
From his early years on construction sites with his father, learning and working with his hands, operating tools and processing measurements and layout concepts, to his teens that were spent exploring and experimenting with old radios, amplifiers and lockpicking tools handed down from his grandfather's tinkiering workspace, he gained a solid creative mind to become the Craftsman he is today.
In addition, his Mother and Grandmother heavily influenced his artistic eye through their constant crafting and flower arranging side hustles. Teaching him not only an understanding of colors and palletes, but also surpisingly, enteprenurial purchasing and inventory control at an early age.
He has been able to hone the best of all of that passed down family knowlege, skill and artistry into his current endeavors as can be seen in the hands on nature of our woodworking, coupled with the use and technological refinement of additional machinery such as cnc's and lasers, and in the final artistic flourishes in many of our products and projects.
Zelda Krumlauf did stuff that learned her to do stuff that helps Black Zebra Woodcraft be able to do other stuff or some junk.

BLAKE BAKER

APPRENTICE
Shop Monkey, Assistant Maker
When Blake Baker joined us as an Apprentice in the summer before his Senior Year in high school, he made Black Zebra Woodcraft not only a family Owned and Operated shop, but as a Grand Nephew of the Krumlaufs, he also made us a Multigenerational Creative Operation.
His first focus was the what, where and why of the tools and methods of the Craftsmanship and Creative Processes that were handed down, generation after generation, to us today, as well as how to find new Knowledge and Techniques to be passed down from us to those that will come after.
Shadowing Lead Maker Boz Krumlauf, he began learning the Skills, Understanding and Artistry of not only the In Shop Production, but also has been working with Zelda Krumlauf to learn the many aspects of Scheduling, Materials Acquisition as well as all of the other Business, Project Management and Operations side that supports how we bring Unique, Highly-Customized, Handcrafted Dreams To Life.
As he currently moves through his Senior Year, he splits his weekdays between his high school studies and attending Polaris Career Center. Upon completion of their program he hopes to bring his newly learned skillsets of Welding, Fabrication and the Metalurgical Trades to bear on many visioned Handcrafted and Artistic projects, as well as add those skills and vison to Black Zebra Woodcraft's Creative Arsenal.
